The online poker room Prime Poker is one of the biggest rooms that don’t take US players. As part of the OnGame network you can expect very good levels of traffic on a secure on stable platform.
The Software
Prime Poker is available in two versions – the downloaded software is for PC users only and there is a no-download Java option for Mac users. Unlike many online poker rooms, a lot of the functionality of the poker software is built in to the Prime Poker website rather than the software – for example there is no hand history viewer as such. When you select to view a hand history during play, the information will open in your browser.
Overall, the software platform is easy on the eye and rates well on functionality. There are a number of user-definable options so you customise to your own preferences. All games available are listed in the lobby and again, these lists can be customised to show according to player preferences.
Prime Poker also has what is probably my favourite “gimmick like” feature of any online poker room I’ve played at. Whenever two or more players get all-in, not only will you see the cards but also a percentage meter will display each player’s chances. Not of huge practical benefit, but it adds a bit of fun to the experience.
In summary an enjoyable and user-friendly poker room - even if not quite as loaded with options as some of its competitors – with excellent traffic considering no US players.
The Games
The usual array of poker games is available, as is becoming expected at any decent online poker room. Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Chinese Poker, 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Hi/Lo and 5 Card Draw cann all be played at Prime Poker. A good range of stakes are available and of course, limit, no-limit and pot-limit options for the games.
With a good range of tournaments (single and multi table) and ring games available, especially during peak times, there is always going to be a game available for players at Prime Poker.
The range of guaranteed tournaments is pretty good and there usually a selection of satellites available to the bigger buy in tournaments.
Bonus and Rewards
A healthy sign-up bonus is available at Prime Poker - 100% deposit match up to $500. This bonus has to be cleared by earning Prime Poker points – by playing real money cash games or tournaments. Regular 15% reload bonuses are also offered to loyal players.
A unique promotion run by Prime Poker is their Prime Doubler. Cash game winnings of over $100 will be automatically DOUBLED the following month as a bonus automatically added to the players account. This also has to be cleared through real money player but can help give a winning player a real boost in additional returns.
Payment Methods
A number of deposit/withdrawal options are available at Prime Poker – Visa/Mastercard credit cards, Neteller, Click2Pay, ePassporte, Wire Transfer and Bank Drafts. Withdrawals tend to be processed in a timely manner.
