MEMBER ARTICLE - Multitabling at iPoker

ARTICLE WRITTEN BY TEAM VCC MEMBER SUBANDI

Hello. I always play 16 tables on Paddy Power Poker and I thought this month I would share with you guys how I do it.

There are 2 ways to multitable; stacking and tiling. Stacking means you only see one table at a time and a new one pops up to the top once a decision is made. Tiling means that you arrange all of the 16 tables next to each other on your screen(s). A major disadvantage to tiling is that the tables have to be really small and it gets quite hectic trying to follow the action across 16 tables as you will have to move your head and the mouse much more. So I choose to use stacking.

First of all, you need a good, clean layout, with room for stats and nothing to distract from the important information. You can modify the iPoker client to look like you want either with Ibolide (www.pokerbolide.com) or IPskinner (software.handhq.com/ipskinner).

Secondly, you need a betpot script or program. There are several AHK scripts out there (we will get to this shortly) but in my opinion nothing can compare to n9-monks iPoker betpot programm (www.betpot.info/ipoker.html) It is currently free, so try it out! You can find suport for it on the 2+2 forums here. You can set it to bet a certain % of the pot on the flop, and another % of the pot on the turn for example. Or you can use one key to sit in/out on all your tables, it also can click "wait for BB" for you if you join a table or post the BB and check "autopost" when its your turn and much, much more!

If you dont have it yet, download AutoHotKey from www.autohotkey.com. AutoHotKey (AHK) is a small, free, but very powerful programm that interprets .txt files as commands and can do all kinds of things for you. Furthermore its safe to use as it's open source and you can always read the scripts and tell what exactly they are supposed to do.
Once you have it installed, simply double click on any *.ahk file and it will load up.

I use AHK for 3 different purposes :-

The Opener

This is a little script where you enter all the programs and scripts you usually open when you start playing poker and from now on you only start the opener and it loads all desired applications for you (pokerclient, HEM or PT, Datamining Software, betpot, scripts etc).

Table Mover

One of the biggest drawbacks when stacking is that you can't follow the action of a whole hand, watch results, take notes and so on, right? Wrong! I have a script where you can move an interesting table out of and back into your main stack of tables with a single keystroke. I personally use 2 different spots (main stack and interesting hands stack) but there is no maximum limit of spots. You just enter your desired hotkey before the "::" and the desired X/Y position on of the top left of the poker table on your screen.

To Remap my Gamepad

Yes, I use a gamepad and nothing else for playing poker. I have it remapped to act as my mouse and control the betpot program:

My Pad

I have scripts for simulating a mouse for both of the analog sticks on the gamepad and I also assign the gamepad buttons 1-3 to send the left, middle and right mouse button clicks. You can also assign the other gamepad buttons to different virtual keystrokes (I have used button 4 = F4, button 5 = F5 and so on but you can do whatever suits your needs)

Once you have done this you can start assigning functions to the buttons on your pad, for example to sit out or in on all tables at once on button 10. Just assign button 10 to F10 and then make a hotkey in n9-monks betpot to sit out/in, triggered by the F10 on your keyboard. You only have to run this configuration process once, after that you just run "the opener" and it loads up all the scripts for you, and you can start playing right away.

The scripts I use are available free of charge to VIP Card Club members - just e-mail support and request it. If you have any further questions, just post them up in the forum and I'll answer as soon as I can. I know for complete newcomers this can look quite complicated, so if you have any problems or questions about anything I wrote I will be glad to help you out.

Trust me, once you get used to these methods, it makes it as easy to play 16 tables as to play 8 tables - and surely I dont have to tell you that more tables = more hands per hour = more cash for any winning player out there! If you do play high volume poker online, remember to contact The VIP Card Club to find out about their special offers. I get a great deal playing at Paddy Power Poker and they have many offers available at other sites.

Good luck and see you at the tables!
