VIP Poker League - New Structure

Ok, here it is. Below is the planned structure/format for the new season.

The league will be run over a 15 week season.
This will be divided into three 5 week mini seasons.

The league will be run exclusively at one site.

There will be four tournaments run each week, with a $5.00 + $.50 buy-in.
Each tournament will have a $500.00 guaranteed prizepool (subject to minimum 50 runners).

Players will keep any prize money in an individual tournament and also earn points based on their finishing position.

Players may play in as many weekly tournaments as they wish, but only their best two scores will count.

Players will receive a bonus for playing in more than two tournaments: -
By playing in three tournaments, they will receive a bonus 5% on their weekly score.
By playing in four tournaments, they will receive a bonus 10% on their weekly score.

There will be two leagues – a “Team League” and an “Individual League”.

Teams must consist of three players.

Team scores will be the total of the three individual scores.

Players may compete in both leagues.

Every participating player will be awarded 3 Joker Cards for the season. If a player cannot participate during a particular week, they may play their Joker Card and they will score their average weekly score for that week

A player playing their Joker Card will be awarded their average score based on points earned at the time of playing the Joker Card

A player may play their Joker Card at any point during a week, providing they have not participated in any of the tournaments during that week.

A player may play their Joker Card by emailing The VIP Poker League at any point during the week, prior to 11:59pm on the Sunday.

There will be added prizes awarded at the end of each week and the end of each 5 week mini-season.

At the end of the 15 week season, a total of 170 players will qualify for one of two Live Finals, as per the qualifying criteria listed.

Ok, that's it! It's a bit more complicated that currently, but we've tried to keep it as simple as we can while still being both "fair" and attractive to players. I'll whizz an email round shortly to all registered VIP Poker League players and hopefully we'll see some comments coming through!

Nice

Hmmm, I think I like it. I haven't take part in the existing league to be honest - the tournaments have been a bit small to excite me. If you're gonna guarantee $500 in each one then I'll definitely be involved for this. It's a bit complicated to be honest though, but overall I like the look of it.

Great changes

I've been involved in the last 2 leagues and they have been ok up until the last few weeks when those not in contention don't bother playing. This way there is a reason to play for the whole season which should keep up the numbers and therefore the prize money

I especially like the split Main event and Side event finals - a much better reward for those who managed a consistent league performance over 15 weeks, while still have a good event for those who "turn up" week after week.

Nice one guys

I like the idea of the Real Madrid package! Being a West Ham fan there's not much chance of me getting to see my team play there anytime soon.

I've played a couple of times in the league but never done well enough to think I'll qualify!

I think this is a definite improvement and it's a good idea to give out extra prizes along the way. Not sure if I'll be able to get a team together, but I'll definitely be playing in the individual league.

Good job!

I think it is a very good structure, and anyone who takes poker seriously, will see this as great added value and a great way to be involved with the VIPCC. I know some may have concerns about BWIN site, but if theres value and added money, what poker player passes up those opportunities. Hopefully we see most of you there, but you all best be fighting for second place, as I will win every week.

Good luck at the tables

You played in the last final didn't you? You weren't living in BA then, I take it??

Is this a permanent move? You can still play in the league for the weekly/5 weekly prizes if you fancy it, and maybe sell your seat if you qualify for the finals.
