I personally much prefer playing live, for a couple of reasons. There is a lot more to information to go on, and so many players give away so much with their talk and actions it can make decisions a lot easier. I also find you percentage of "bad" players is higher live.
The downside of course is no multitabling!! So while I probably do better live in terms of return on my investment, I can win more online because I can play more tables.
Another benefit of live is I'm far less likely to tilt. When I get sucked out online I still have quite managed to control my emotions all the time. I can change from being a reasoned and thoughtful player to a rash and degenerate gambler in the space of a few hands! Live though, I can walk away, take a couple of minutes, have a smoke or whatever and get over it pretty quick.
