Howdy

Hello all those budding poker stars out there, great to be part of this forum with you - I'm hoping I can learn a lot from my fellow players.

I've been playing poker for about 3 years now - mainly online for small stakes (Docdonug is my table name - mainly Full Tilt) and whilst drunk with friends, but more recently at a pub poker night which is really good fun.

Am currently reading up on no limit hold'em tactics, so if anyone can recommend any good reading material, I'm all ears.

See you in Vegas! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner (oops, wrong game ))

Books

Hi and welcome to the forum.

With regards books, I am currently reading David Sklansky - No Limit Holdem Theory and Practice. I'm finding it both interesting and helpful and I'm sure it will improve my game!

Welcome to the forums, look forward to seeing you around.

Harrington on Holdem, Volumes I & II are fantastic poker books. I have read them both multiple times and rank as the best and most useful of all the books I have read.

Harrington

Volume 1 is my current reading material...am understanding the need to read it more than once, because I'm about half way through and I've already forgetten the first half I have read!

Haha, I was quite similar. The "best" way to utilise the study is to play while reading it (not literally!) and slowly bring the concepts you learn into your game. And then reread the books every now and then to really hammer home the strategy.

Hi monkeymagic

I second the recommendation of the Harrington books. Harrington one was the first poker book I read and teaches the basics of poker strategy so well. The second really delves deeper into some more advanced plays and helps you take your game to another level.

If you're serious about learning the game of poker then definitely read, reread and read again these books.
